What do you think of the name Anya? Anyone know where it originates from?

Russian form of Anne (I think).

It's a strong girls name.

It's a Russian diminutive of Anna. I think it's quite pretty, but I do prefer Anna

My DP and I both had this on our girls list, however, I pronounced it Arnya and he pronounced it Anne-ya. We couldn't decide how it was pronounced so it's off the list now(!)

I think it's Russian (& pronounced Anya!)

Great name (makes me think of Buffy)
