stuck for a boys name

am completely stuck for a boys name! I knew what name I would choose if I was having a girl but have no idea for a boys name at all!

Suggestions appreciated

My daughter is Olivia Grace, so preferably something complimentary to this :)

What names can't you have?

Boys' names that I think would go with Olivia

James
Edward
Oscar (but you might not want two Os)

Starlight9 · 05/05/2015 11:25

definitely not to O's. we have an Italian surname so I was debating Italian names but the only one I truly liked is Alexander but it is my brother is law's name therefore it didn't seem right to use.

I don't like short names
definitely not O names (don't want to O's)
no common or celebrity names, bot nothing too diverse

My girl's name was Gianna Leanne, if that helps at all?

I'm debating Zackariah? It is a strange name?

So lost for names! xxx

If you like Zachariah then would you also consider Zachary, or Isaac?

Samuel
Henry/Harry
Aaron
Elliot
Daniel
George
Ethan
Benjamin
Harvey
Charles/Charlie

Harry, George, Benjamin and Isaac are actually on my 'list' but Zackariah sprung to mind and I love it. I have a large family so do not want to copy any names (my daughter was not named after anybody and I would like to do the same with my son, with 12 siblings it's a little easier to name babies after nobody than to try and keep everybody happy)

xx

Joseph
Vincent (Vincenzo)
Max

I love Enzo but I'm far too British to pull it off!

OneMagnumisneverenough · 05/05/2015 17:22

Ezekiel (Zeke)
Zander
Jonah (similar to Gianna?)
Kieran/Ciaran
Anthony
Miles
Marcus
Elliot

Conrad
Anthony
Alasdair is an Alexander variant

I have a Zachariah. So it's great! Any reason for the unusual spelling? Is it Italian?

Starlight9 · 11/05/2015 21:40

It's just how I thought it was spelt.. although I will have to sit and write down every way of spelling whatever name I choose!
I love Zackariah

I am also totally stuck choosing a boy's name Sad
Some I have come across that I like but probably can't use (because he may have ginger hair and I don't believe they'd be right, and along with other reasons such as relatives having the name) are;

Warwick
Mason
Theodore
Matthew (or Matteo in the Italian I suppose)
Alexander/Xander
James
Isaac
Dexter
Flynn
Joseph
Lawson
Victor
Sebastian
William
Calvin
Edgar
Grayson
Jackson
Jared
Xavier
Ashton
Dalton
Lachlan
Thomas

Joshua? Would work well in Italian (Giosue)?

ICantDecideOnAUsername · 12/05/2015 20:04

Lumpy why would the names not go with a ginger? My son is ginger and has a name on that list. It suits him down to the ground.

rocket74 · 12/05/2015 20:35

I love Cosmo as an Italian boys name.

Some of them are friends/family's/people's pet's names. Not all are because he may be ginger. Sorry, didn't mean to be confusing.

MissTwister · 13/05/2015 21:48

What does ginger hair have to do with a name though!

LumpyCustard69 · 14/05/2015 19:20

I'm ginger. I have friends that are ginger. Ginger kids are picked on purely because of their hair colour. Me picking a stand out/unusual name, or one that doesn't suit the child will make them an ideal case for being picked on.
And, although anyone can suffer bullying, I am just choosing not to add to the chances.
Most of the names I have chosen to disregard are because of family/friend ties etc. But some because of the ginger thing.

Icedfinger · 14/05/2015 19:29

How about...

Daniel
Edward
Theodore
Zachary
Isaiah
Benjamin
Peter
Raphael
Gabriel

GoulashSoup · 14/05/2015 22:16

If I had the option of an Italian boy's name I would love to use Emilo or Emiliano. I just love the names for no reason but the sound of them.
