Annabelle?

Do you hear Annabelle and think doll?

It's the current favourite. Not sure what spelling yet, we may lose the le from the end. The doll thing is bothering me a bit. Next choice is Hannah which we also love

We considered Annabel, but would have avoided the belle spelling due to doll/film.

It is a beautiful name with a lovely meaning.

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 04/05/2015 23:10

Nope, I think of the night club. Hannah is much nicer imo.

Sophronia · 04/05/2015 23:12

I prefer just Anna, or Hannah. Annabelle is too 'frilly' for me.

timelyreminder · 04/05/2015 23:18

I like Annabel and think it's a pretty name. It doesn't remind me of dolls or nightclubs!

Tomodachi · 04/05/2015 23:21

I love Annabelle and know an adult one who is a very good representative for the name! many ways to be varied too: Anna, Belle, Elle, Anne (can you tell I have a name which can't even be shortened!)

DD's best friend for the past three or four years has been an Annabelle and I have never made the connection! I haven't heard anyone else (adult or child) comment on it either.

swimmerforlife · 05/05/2015 08:10

Annabelle is gorgeous, I don't think of the doll or film. It was on our shortlist.

Hannah is lovely too.

sweetpeame · 05/05/2015 08:13

I like Annabel (spelt that way), wouldn't necessarily think of the doll (although DD has one!). Could use nn Anna or Bel. Don't like Hannah so much, I feel like it's been done to death a bit.

ShootTheMoon · 05/05/2015 08:18

I much prefer the Annabel spelling but like the name a lot Smile

Certainly don't think of a doll!

flanjabelle · 05/05/2015 08:21

It's dds middle name and I love it. I much prefer this spelling too as it just seems prettier. Combined with dds first name, I constantly get compliments about how lovely it sounds.

manicinsomniac · 05/05/2015 15:40

I love Annabelle (prefer it spelt this way but either is lovely) and don't associate it with anything.

I think I love Hannah even more though.

squoosh · 05/05/2015 16:39

Yes it always reminds me of the doll.

juneau · 05/05/2015 16:42

I knew a lovely girl at school called Annabelle, so for me it has positive connotations. I don't know of any film connections - if its a Disney princess thing I wouldn't as I have boys Grin

DramaAlpaca · 05/05/2015 17:25

I prefer the Annabel spelling.

I've never heard of an Annabelle doll so don't associate the name with that, or with anything else tbh.
