Sweated blood practically chosen our little boys name and with 5 weeks to go I've gone off it. ..majorly. DH says it's hormones and I'll probably like it again when he's here but I know I won't. I have a DD called Melissa. What can I call my boy? Tearing my hair out!!!!

What's the name? Do you like any other names?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 29/04/2015 09:24

I always think that when parents can't decide on a name or can't find any names they like is because the baby has already name themselves. He'll probably come with his name. You'll see him and he'll hAvd a name written all over him. Probably one you've never thought of. A lot of children name themselves.

You've got five weeks till he's born, stop stressing yourself out. And it's perfectly fine for him to be nameless for a few days after birth.

When I was pregnant with ds I went off the name we'd had for 2.6yrs.

When he was born he just suited the original nameZ

Don't panic. I am 38 weeks and we are no further to agreeing, so we've stopped discussing! DC1 was "little boy" for two weeks and I'm now resigned to similar this time. I do think it's easier when they arrive as you can "try out" names and see if they suit it.Grin

Don't worry about it. I am 31 weeks & have given up on the idea of naming baby at birth. We have a few names in mind, will see what works when she/he is here.

NKfell · 29/04/2015 17:25

My boy was going to be called Thomas...all through the pregnancy, Thomas was my boy's name.

The day he was born he didn't look like a Thomas at all and out of nowhere I picked John-Paul!

So, don't worry!

There's a whole world of names out there. Nobody ever died because they weren't named 5 weeks before they were born. You'll find something you are both happy with at some point Smile

We had a shortlist of boys and girls names that we had agonised over. When DD was born I looked straight at her and said 'she's called X' X was not on our list! I am a firm believer in babies naming themselves as pp said :)
