Middle name ideas for these first names

Pregnant with my first, no idea as to sex but we are set on first names for either: Holly or Joshua. Surname is a Dutch name with two words - van Xxxxxx.

The only ideas we have really come up with for middle names are our own middle names, which are Marie and Lawrence - but what happens with the second baby if it's the same sex, they might grow up feeling less special if DC1 has mum/dad's middle name?!

So, any ideas for good middle names to follow Holly or Joshua?

I actually think Holly Marie and Joshua Lawrence sound perfect - better than any of my suggestions.
I don't think another child would feel left out. You could give them a grandparents, aunts or uncles name or your own middle names. Even if you give them something completely unrelated I can't see the bother.

My sister has my mums middle name. It has never occurred to me to be offended/jealous. I love my own 2 names. Go with Marie or Lawrence, they really fit.

Or if you have two children of the same gender, they could have the same middle name? I know sisters who do, and they're fine with it!

I don't have any suggestions that are any better than the suggestions already made but I did want to say that I imagine the majority of people really don't care what their middle name is! I know I don't... My brother has my dad's name as his middle name and I have a random one my parents liked, never occurred to me to mind that it's just a random name! Likewise my DD's middle name is the name of my cousin who died around the time she was born but DS will "just" have a middle name we like...no problem whatsoever!

Go with Marie or Lawrence. Then if you need another name later, choose another name from the family (or perhaps you could even use your own first name). I know what you mean, it is nice to feel that there's a connection with the name, rather than a random choice.

If you go back to great-grandparents, there should be quite a few names to choose from if you include all the great-aunts, uncles, cousins etc.
