Evening!

What do you think of the name Luna Mia? (with a double barrelled surname 2-1 syllables).

A bit try hard, if I'm honest - either Luna or Mia

AtomicDog · 26/04/2015 21:01

"Moon me"!

Really?

Sounds nice! Personally prefer Luna on it's own, but if you prefer them together then do that :) should work fine with your surname I reckon....

CaptainAnkles · 26/04/2015 21:03

Moon me GrinGrin
Sorry, that made me laugh. They're both lovely names but a bit much together.

Rosa · 26/04/2015 21:08

I came on to post the "moon my" or me as well. ...its too much IMO either Luna or Mia... Not both.

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/04/2015 21:21

It sounds a bit like the name of a cocktail.

Both are fine names separately, they just don't work well together.

I think both need a polysyllabic name to follow eg - Luna Amelia, Mia Isabella...or something.

paxtecum · 26/04/2015 21:24

Luna tic.

Sorry, not sure about Luna.

Joyfulldeathsquad · 26/04/2015 21:25

I like Luna !

toddlerwrangling · 26/04/2015 21:28

It does sound a bit like some kind of feminine product to me, with both of them together - "buy the new Luna Mia epilator half price in Boots this week" or similar (sorry!)

madreloco · 26/04/2015 22:14

I think My Moon, its a bit feathery-stroker.

sweetpeame · 27/04/2015 09:19

It does sound a little strange as a double barrel first name - sounds like the name of a product but I'm not sure what kind! I would stick with one or the other...especially if you have a double barrel surname.

BabyTuckoo · 27/04/2015 10:09

'My/me moon' here too. Not together. Apart from the meanings, the two 'a' endings sound a bit odd and sing-song.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 27/04/2015 10:12

Luna Mia sounds like a phone handset. "New from Samsung, Luna Mia"

EthelCardew · 27/04/2015 10:15

Luna is a brand of electric face brush. Mia is also an electric face brush - a Clarisinic model!

SavoyCabbage · 27/04/2015 10:15

I wouldn't team Mia with anything space related because of the Mir space station.

Weebirdie · 27/04/2015 10:16

No, it sounds very strange.

PrimroseEverdeen · 27/04/2015 10:19

Luna Mia means "moon me" in Italian. Sorry but I really don't like it. I do love both names, especially Luna, which is lovely. How about,

Luna Grace

Luna Elizabeth

Luna Rose.

PrimroseEverdeen · 27/04/2015 10:19

Sorry meant to say" my moon!"

PennilynLott · 27/04/2015 10:20

I like both names, but together it sounds like it means 'my lunatic'

laurenlhthompson · 27/04/2015 11:00

Luna has become so popular recently! It is a lovely name though without the Mia

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 27/04/2015 11:27

First rule of naming. The first and middle name must not end in the same sounding. Luna Mia. Say it in your head. It doesn't even flow.
Thumbs down from me.

Jobebe · 27/04/2015 11:44

Thanks all! Just to clarify that it's not a double barrelled first name. Mia would be the middle name!

We're thinking maybe Luna Mae now.

OP posts:
Alisvolatpropiis · 27/04/2015 11:50

I assumed it was Middle name rather than double barrelled. It still doesn't flow well.

I think Luna Mae has the same problem, too short.
