Luna or Lyra?

I like Lyra, DH likes Luna.

Which do you prefer (if any?)

Lyra. I do like both, but the hamster is called Luna and I think it's a bit try hard/too fandom-y because of Potter! The Pullman reference is more subtle

Lyra is much nicer than Luna.

Lyra sounds too much like 'liar'. Of course the Pullman character makes something of a virtue out of this!

Luna makes me think of lunatic, so I'm afraid neither of these names does it for me.

Well it's Pullman v Rowling.
Consensus was Luna will get called loony as she did in Harry Potter.
I like Lyra but the whole pull and thing puts me off.
Do you only read children's books or do you have any more grown up ideas?

I liked the other poster's suggestion of Lara, which is beautiful

I like Luna best. Lyra sounds too much like Laura for me.
