Beatrix and Tabitha are lovely.

So are Alice and Charlotte, but I've seen both on a royal baby name list...

Tattiesthroughthebree · 21/04/2015 12:09

Alice (lovely!)
Louisa (also lovely!)
Charlotte (another lovely name!)
Beatrix (lovely, but I prefer Beatrice)

Ottilie (ok)

Tabitha

Though I might like Tabitha better if I didn't think of it as a cat's name.

TempsPerdu · 21/04/2015 14:44

I really like Alice, Ottilie and Tabitha. Louisa's OK but a bit insipid, and I'm not a fan of Beatrix or Charlotte.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 21/04/2015 14:45

Charlotte

PrimroseEverdeen · 21/04/2015 15:05

All nice but Ottilie is my favourite!

Toothfairy87 · 21/04/2015 15:18

Louisa and Tabitha :)
Tabitha (could be tabby as short) is very lovely and unusual .. They both are very good choices! Good luck deciding! Let us know!

CruCru · 21/04/2015 19:22

In order, Beatrix, then Louisa (will it annoy you if people shorten it to Louise?), then Alice.

Ottilie sounds like Utterly and drunk men will find this amusing. Tabitha - no but I don't know why. I've never liked Charlotte for some reason and I know lots of Lotties, it seems to be the name of choice for four and five year olds in the home counties.

Chancewouldbefinething · 22/04/2015 22:56

Beatrix is lovely

crapfatbanana · 22/04/2015 22:58

Oh, I love all of them, but have always had a thing for Tabitha.

DramaAlpaca · 22/04/2015 23:00

Louisa is my favourite, Tabitha my least.

SweetAndFullOfGrace · 22/04/2015 23:02

I don't think girl's names should sound diminutive so I would avoid any that end in 'a' or 'ie'/'y'. I like Charlotte and Alice.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 22/04/2015 23:18

Charlotte
Louisa
Alice
in that order.

hawkmcqueen · 23/04/2015 13:43

Charlotte and Louisa. Have a Charlotte and Louisa was on the shortlist. Advantage of Louisa is that it's not too popular. Our Charlotte is called Lulu as could a Louisa.

IvoryMadonna · 23/04/2015 13:57

Louisa and Alice.

I like Charlotte, but dislike Lottie.

lauraa4 · 23/04/2015 14:53

Charlotte or Alice :)

50shadesofknackered · 24/04/2015 14:35

Alice is my favourite then Louisa.

kate113855 · 25/04/2015 21:50

I love Alice and Beatrix! Although I would use Trixie as a nickname for Beatrix :-)

Sophronia · 27/04/2015 13:46

Louisa is my favourite.

easternpromises · 29/04/2015 09:13

All nice names.

Alice and Louisa are lovely.

I also like Beatrix and Charlotte a lot
Not overly fond of Ottilie/ Tabitha but nothing wrong with either.

Beatrix (Bea)
Charlotte (Lottie)
Alice
Ottilie (Tilly)
Louisa
Tabitha

I like Beatrix but Bea more.
Alice is one of those gorgeous names that will always sound nice.

Least fave is Ottilie, as people on mn like to say, it sounds too 'frilly' , as does Tilly.

scottishnames · 17/11/2021 19:58

Ottilie nice if given original German pronunciation: Oh -teel-ee-ya.
All the others perfectly OK; mostly classic; none = anything to frighten the horses.

tearinghairout · 17/11/2021 20:01

Tabitha. I've always loved it. Really don't like Beatrix or Alice but the rest are nice.

eightlivesdown · 17/11/2021 20:18

Charlotte; but not Lottie. Prefer Charley, Carly, Lola as abbreviations.

Elspethelf · 17/11/2021 23:49

Beatrix or Louisa
