First name and middle name with same initial?

Hello, I'm expecting DS1 and a regular lurker on these threads. Just looking for opinions please on whether people think it's an issue for the first and middle names to start with the same letter (surname is a long one starting with a different letter). Thank you in advance!

I wouldn't think twice about it. My grandmother and mother's first two names have the same initial letters.

I really wouldn't worry about it either... If you like the names, go for it.

As the possessor of First and Middle names both beginning with the letter "M", please don't give him that one.

It hasn't helped matters that I have married a man whose surname also begins with the same letter and I took his name upon marriage.

Nutella the letter in question is S!

My son is Adam Arthur - we laugh that his initials and surname sound like he should be an author one day Smile

TimeforaDietCoke · 20/04/2015 21:21

My mum says that too Genma. Those names are lovely together.

DD has first and middle name starting with same letter. I think it actually sounds rather good!

BlueKarou · 22/04/2015 15:17

I don't think it would be an issue.

That said; when you mentioned the letter is S, my mind did immediately think that S S Jones or S S Johnson (or any surname) do bring to mind a naval vessel; i.e. SS Britannia.

Wouldn't stop me from using it if I liked the names.

Mouthfulofquiz · 22/04/2015 15:27

I think it is really nice! I know someone with the initials A A and their signature is great!! (And we all sign documents a lot so it's a legitimate thing to admire!)

TimeforaDietCoke · 22/04/2015 22:15

Thank you I'm a bit Confused about the SS thing I think. Middle name is a family name so a definite, first name still up for debate. Thanks for all the helpful replies!

Me and my brother have alliteration in our names - LL and SS. To be honest I don't think anyone has noticed or commented on it until we mention it!
