Freida 9/10 it was my nan's name. Short for Winifred.
I've actually heard quite a few little ones called Freida. Very pretty
Claudia is s nice name but I don't
like it. I'd give it about 6/10 as a nsme but for personal opinion 3/10
Tabitha 0/10 awful sorry. I that's a marmite nsme though. You either love or hate it.
Rosalind. Not keen 4/10. Rosa's nice though
Meredith. Beautiful name 10/10
Elizabeth gorgeous classy name tHat suits right through life, so many nn she could use as well. 10/10
Thea 7/10
phoebe over used 4/10
Martha good strong name. 8/10
Helena gorgeous name. 10/10.

Now I know it's to go with a very English surname, I want to revise Meredith downwards please
Meredith 5

steppemum · 16/04/2015 11:24

how do you pronounce Frieda?
If it is Fr ee da, that to me is different from Fri - ee- da

Frieda - 2 sounds like operatic viking
Freda - 5
Claudia - 7
Tabitha 2 - love this but it is a cat's name
Rosalind 10 - one of my fav names, classy, but can be informal Rosie
Meredith 9
Elizabeth 6 - bit boring, but very classic, higher score with cool nn
Thea 6
Phoebe 6
Martha 7
Helena 8 - but will be shortened and Helen get 2

gnushoes · 16/04/2015 11:26

Less scientifically, you may look at her when she's born and one of those names will just be right...

Frieda - 9 (my favourite though prefer the anglicised Freda spelling than your germanic spelling)
Claudia - 3
Tabitha - 6
Rosalind - 3
Meredith - 0 (bleugh)
Elizabeth - 6
Thea - 6
Phoebe - 7
Martha - 7

TremoloGreen · 16/04/2015 11:36

HermiaDream - I can imagine you're a fan of Helen-a Grin That is how it's pronounced, like the Shakespeare character.

OP posts:
redautumnleaves · 16/04/2015 11:38

Yes, I like Freda better for spelling. In fact, this raised it to a 10/10.

TremoloGreen · 16/04/2015 11:42

If I saw the name Freda written down, I would question whether to pronounce it FREYda though, no?

OP posts:
TremoloGreen · 16/04/2015 11:44

Frieda is pretty standard Confused
Nice Ted Hughes poem about his daughter Frieda

OP posts:
redautumnleaves · 16/04/2015 11:45

No, not at all.
I think Frieda may make people say - Fried a.
Freda looks better written down and more simple to pronounce.
Still love it.
(Caveat - my dd has the best name but Freda comes close).

squoosh · 16/04/2015 11:46

The Plath/Hughes connection is what I think of. It depresses me to be honest. Her life has been so dominated by her parents' shadow.

OftheTwilighttheDarkness · 16/04/2015 11:47

Frieda - 2/10 - it is not a vile name but it makes me think of the blue peter tortoise
Claudia - 4/10
Helena - 6/10
Tabitha - 8/10
Rosalind - 4/10
Meredith 10/10
Thea 10/10 - this is my favourite of your list
Phoebe 9/10
Martha 8/10
Elizabeth 8/10

Enb76 · 16/04/2015 11:49

I don't think so - and it's easily corrected. Most people will know Freda as a name. My daughter's name is very English with a very English spelling and people get hers wrong simply because they've not heard the name before (how they haven't, I don't know)

sumoweeble · 16/04/2015 11:51

Frieda 4
Claudia 3
Tabitha 3
Rosalind 4
Meredith 3
Elizabeth 7
