Otto Benjamin

What do you think? We have just found out DC3 is a boy. For context, we have an Isaac and a Nancy and tend to go for classic, but underused (Where we are anyway!) names. Want to maintain a surprise, so don't want to sound anyone out in RL.

Otto makes me think of the bus driver out of the Simpsons Blush. I love Benjamin, but I'm sure that many people will shorten it and start calling him 'Ben', would that be something you'd like?

For the record I don't dislike Otto, it's an interesting name, and I'm all for names that aren't particularly well used Smile

Benjamin would be his middle name - I'm not a fan of it as a first name, but my husband would like it for family reasons and I got to do that with our first son, so it seems only fair!

I like it. Otto is great, but if this sort of thing matters to you, it seems to be getting quite fashionable at the moment, one of those names that you're just all of a sudden aware of a lot more. I could see it becoming like an Elodie, or a Luca, or something, especially as boys names ending in 'o' seem quite desirable at the moment. But it is lovely and it goes well with Benjamin and your other names.

I also think it is quite nice with our surname - Allan (which is quite hard to find names to fit with!). Completely outing myself, but oh well!

I like Otto. We considered it for ds.

Variousrandomthings · 18/04/2015 06:40

I like it a lot.

MuttonCadet · 18/04/2015 06:47

I'm not keen on Otto, particularly not with Allan, too many duplicate letters.

What about:
Francis
Nicholas
Jonathan
Richard

Classic, under used?

SoupDragon · 18/04/2015 06:52

For some reason, Otto makes me think of a vampire. I'm not sure why, maybe a Terry Pratchett book.

Ignoring that, I'm not convinced Otto goes with your surname.

Otto Alan is great
