DH and I have really struggled to find a boy's name we both really liked and we think we've found one...interested to know what people think? Ellison, nn Ellis with James as a middle name.

I agree with most PPs - Ellis James is good.

I love Ellis- I think it was my great-grandad's name and we have it as a contender on our list of potential names. Goes nicely with James as a middle name too Smile

I like Ellis. Its more common as a girls name where I live but I think Ellis James is lovely for a boy.

I really like Ellison. I think it sounds like a good solid boys name. It's already my cousins surname or I would consider it myself at some point.

I agree with those that say it sounds like Alison and for that reason wouldn't use it.
Ellis is nice but could sound a little like Alice and I do know of a girl called Ellis so just seems a little feminine to me, sorry.

Ellis is a good name in its own right, you haves specific reason to use it and it would be the name you call him, so I'm not sure why you need Ellison at all. I'd just go with the name you love and want to use - Ellis James is great.

I do like Ellis James a lot. I can imagine a boy getting teased if he was called Ellison though-say when he starts school-he would be called Alison.
I like Alex James as well (just putting it out there)

The only Ellis I know is a woman.
