Will be comparing notes with oh in a few weeks.
This will be dc2 we already have a dd Georgia.

Girls:
•Harriet- Hatty as nn (our surname begins with h though)
• Camilla
• Catherine - Kitty as nn
• Edith

Nancy, Annabel are both ok but not 100%. I like Allegra and Arabella but sure it will be a no to those.

Boys- my favourite is Henry but this was strongly vetoed last time.
• Alistair
• Edward/Ted (too popular?)
• Gregory (would this work with Georgia?)

Really struggling with boys names!

Any suggestions please?!
And comments on list so far
Thanks

I love Thomasina at the minute, NN Ina/Ena depending on how you spell it. I have a Romilly, I also like Ethne which is an old name.

Fifis25StottieCakes · 12/04/2015 03:03

For a boy I love Jesse, Lester, Josiah, Samuel, Cole.

Some of my male ancestors from the 1800's were called Tyson and Crispin

BigSister1989 · 12/04/2015 08:30

I love Hatty! Not so keen on Camilla...
What about Agnes for a girl?
For a boy, maybe Fred? I love it!

Madamecastafiore · 12/04/2015 08:35

I have a Harriet who only answers to Harriet (or Harry at school), she hates Hatty. No one has ever been anything but complimentary about her name and we only have come across a handful in the last 15 years.

How about Anna?

Thank you all for feedback and suggestions will have a proper look through .
Spoke to oh last time he's so awkward with names his overall feedback was
Gregory and Alistair were 'meh', really hates Albert or Alfred- Arthur isn't as bad.
Camilla he saids its too associated with Camilla Parker Bowles. Doesn't like Kitty or Edith.
Harriet he said was ok

He said he will give it some thought he thinks we need something that's classic, and known but something you don't hear everyday so think we're after the same style at least!

Cary as in Cary Grant.

'Harriet'~ I'm not too keen with the name itself, but It goes wonderfully with 'Georgia'

'Camilla'~ I myself like the name, but it doesn't match as well with 'Georgia'

'Catherine'~ I like the nn, but it doesn't go as well as 'Harriet' does with 'Georgia'

Edith~ this goes well with Georgia

Nancy~ I know a nancy who can be a grouch so I have mixed feelings towards this particular name, it
Goes alright with Georgia, but definitely not as well as Edith and Harriet do.

Allegra~ I like how creative this name is, but I don't think both girls should have names that end with 'a'

Annabel~ my grandmother's name, it doesn't have the same style as Georgia, but it still goes okay.

Arabella- there are lots of Bella's in this day and age, so i wouldn't name a child this.

I am kinda surprised you have trouble with the boy's names, as I have practically double the amount of potential ones!

Raven DH and I have a favourite girls name as well as several possible alternatives. We've only been able to come up with one boys name though! Similar criteria to OP.

Doesn't help that our surname is reasonably common.and there seem to be a lot of well known men with the same surname. That said, our preferred boys name is the same as a TV.presenter but hopefully not too well known!

Namechanged101 · 14/04/2015 08:25

lastnight if its not too nosey what is your boy name choice?
Raven It was the same last time I had a list of 15 girl names I loved but 1 choice for a boy that in hindsight I really dislike now was just desperate to pick one I find boy names really tough

Not brave enough to say directly but it's on manics list (as is our girls name) and our surname is Martin.

It's like 'cheryl's birthday' all over again! Wink
