I mean as a first name............lots of lovely Louises out there with that as a middle name but five out of five Louises I have met have all been pretty dreadful.

How can you not know a nice Louise? It's such a common name for the 70s-90s generation. Some of the ones you've met must be nice! I can think of at least 6 off the top of my head and they're all lovely.

Also know loads of nice Amys, Claires and Natashas. In fact I have close friends with all three of those names. Also know a couple of lovely Felicitys, Chloes, Simons, Amelias and Nicolas.

I'm not keen on the only Rhea I know but that's a sample of one.

I do have a lovely friend named Louise, and even if I didn't, it's Louise Brooks's name which makes it automatically awesome as far as I'm concerned!

I have 2 lovely friends called Louise. I was bullied at school by a Lucy and it has tainted the name for me to the extent I could never use it for a DC, even though I now have a really close friend called Lucy.

Ha, that's always been my theory too, OP (nothing at all to do with the class bully at school and my evil stepmother being called this...) although I'm sure there are lovely people called Louise out there somewhere.
