Stuck for names so thought this might be a fun was of getting inspiration. The clever pretty girl at my school who was also nice to people, basically a fab all rounder, was Abby.

clever - and somewhat pretty: Stella
pretty- and somewhat clever: Caroline
girl/woman you'd most want to be friends with (neither cleverest nor prettiest): Joanne

30 years on, Joanne is still the woman we most want to be friends with. no idea whether Caroline would still be regarded as pretty but Stella is still very very bright (and very pretty) - but her career has stalled a bit because of children.

Don't want to be the downer here but were there really all these girls who were nice, cleverest and prettiest? Because that is not my experience - it was way more nuanced than that.

Is someone really saying that Cindy Crawford was the prettiest and the cleverest and the nicest girl in her grade. amazing.

Men's baby names choices are often a bit dated, along the lines of Jennifer and Alison, because they associate these names with the cool pretty girls from school and want that for their daughter.

In reply to Canyouforgive, the name I gave was of a girl who was clever and pretty and lovely, rather than the cleverest and nicest and prettiest.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 09/04/2015 01:18

Emma. Emma Banfield.

LittleIda · 09/04/2015 01:18

Glad to see my name features on the list (wondering if they actually mean me...)

My offerings: Emily, Catherine, Belinda, Eleanor, Grace, Rebecca, Sacha and several Claire/Clares.

Not sure what point is being made here but OP asked names of the girl who was clever and pretty. I reckon most people think Cindy could be described as pretty, and she was class valedictorian. So that seemed to fit the bill.

What am I missing?

CheerfulYank · 09/04/2015 03:48

Riana. Not always the nicest, but nice enough and she's very nice now. Very clever and very pretty.

Jessica. Funny, completely down to earth and not a snobby bone in her body despite being so pretty.

Clever: Catherine and Linda
Popular (though one definitely, with hindsight, a Queen Bee): Joanne and Sally
