Scott....due a comeback?

Does anyone like the name Scott for a little boy?

You don't meet many little Scotts these days, but I think it's a nice solid name. Cute on a little boy (Scottie is a nice NN) and solid for an adult.

What are your opinions when you see the name Scott?

It's a good name. Scottie is cute. Go for it!

sweetpeame · 05/04/2015 12:22

Mmmmm don't think it's due a comeback... I don't like it in any case but it seems incredibly 80's/maybe early 90's at a push. Makes me think of Scott Robinson from Neighbours Grin

Blazing88 · 05/04/2015 12:26

I'm nearly 41 and 3 of my earliest boyfriends were called Scott!

Definitely due a revival, and more of a 70's name, not an 80/90's name!

TheNewStatesman · 05/04/2015 12:36

I think it's a nice, strong name. Why not?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 05/04/2015 12:50

It's nice

OneMagnumisneverenough · 05/04/2015 12:51

In Scotland it's never really gone away, I know Scotts of all ages, youngest about 4.

Sophronia · 05/04/2015 15:43

I think it's nice enough, might be a bit early for a comeback though.

Dfg15 · 05/04/2015 15:48

I love Scott - if I'd have had a boy he would have been called Scott. It's a great name

msrisotto · 05/04/2015 15:50

It's a good name. Don't know if it's due a comeback yet, but it isn't overused yet so i'd definitely go for it!

OneMagnumisneverenough · 05/04/2015 16:02

There were 83 boys names Scott in Scotland last year making it 85 on the chart. Probably some Scots as well.

dementedma · 05/04/2015 16:05

Still popular here in Scotland along with Stuart. Don't like either personally.

squoosh · 07/04/2015 21:26

Far too popular in Scotland. The most unimaginative Scottish name I always think.

aFirmGrip · 08/04/2015 13:27

Will always make me think of Scott Robinson - which is a good thing.

VT82 · 08/04/2015 16:13

I wouldn't use it myself, but I like it, especially because it's not over-used these days. It feels like the world has turned upside down when 'Barnaby' can be exponentially more popular than 'Scott' as a name these days.

wildpoppy · 08/04/2015 23:05

I would also like a Jason comeback.

monkeysaymoo · 08/04/2015 23:09

It's a great name, lovely for a little boy and solid name for a man. I hope it doesn't get a massive come back though as it's nice that it's not over used

NormHonal · 08/04/2015 23:11

I love it - never met a Scott I didn't like.

DramaAlpaca · 08/04/2015 23:15

I don't like it personally, but I know three of them - a five year old, a 20 year old and an adult in his 40s, only one of them with Scottish heritage.

UnderTheDeepBlueSea · 09/04/2015 06:09

Awful, awful name but then again it is the name of my NC brother.

Aside from that, some names should just stay in the 70s/80s 90s

ems1910 · 10/04/2015 17:18

I like It. My nephew is Scott, he is 21. Haven't heard of any since .

SconeCreamJam · 10/04/2015 17:24

I like it too, my brother is Scott and he's 21. It's got quite a cool feel to it I think, but my brother is quite a cool character!

DinkyDye · 10/04/2015 17:43

Scott was on my list but have found out dc2 is a girl.

I think it's a nice strong sounding boys name.

DinkyDye · 10/04/2015 17:45

wild i was also floating the name Jason Blush
