What are people's thoughts on Tessa? It's top of the shortlist right now, but we also like Edie (Edith), Georgia and Fleur. Surname starts with E.

Fab definitely use it

MrsMyrtleMarple · 03/04/2015 21:04

My dog is called Tessa. Not very helpful I know.

Lucked · 03/04/2015 21:07

Love it, slightly prefer Tess. I still wish it was my daughters name and it would really suit her but DH didn't feel the same.

Madamecastafiore · 03/04/2015 21:10

I only know one and she is a vile manipulative little girl (her mother's fault( so is one of my least favourite names.

HuggleBuggleBear · 03/04/2015 21:15

Really like it. Like Edie but seems to be really growing in popularity.

DramaAlpaca · 03/04/2015 22:07

I prefer Tess, but Tessa is OK. Has a bit of a 70's vibe about it, I think.

motleymop · 03/04/2015 22:08

It is reminiscent of middle aged women in the suburbs to me. Sorry.

Like it! It sounds pretty and girly in a good way. Reminds me of Tessa Virtue who's an amazing Canadian ice dancer (sorry for the obscure reference!).

VainVulva · 03/04/2015 22:48

Love it!! Though also love Fleur and Edie from your list....not very helpful sorry!

feetheart · 03/04/2015 22:55

I may be very biased but I love it :)
Lovely sunny name that is unusual without being whacky. In 12 years we haven't come across any other children with the same name (just older ladies and dogs which DD thinks is funny!)
For a quiet child who hates having things draw attention to her she LOVES her 'different' name.

Funnily enough we were forbidden from using Edith - it was MiL's name and she hated it.

Pandora37 · 03/04/2015 23:55

I love Tessa, it sounds bright and happy. I like it the most out of your names.

TwinkleTee · 04/04/2015 09:45

Sister in Law is called Tessa (Tess). I love the name!
Would use it myself if it wasn't a bit weird to do so :)

StrawberryMojito · 04/04/2015 09:48

I prefer Tess but Tessa is nice. I bet for every girls name anyone could come up with there would be a poster somewhere who said that they knew a vile one at school.
Not keen on fleur though, it just sounds horrible

WestEast · 04/04/2015 09:54

It's my cats name. I'd totally call a child it, if I'd not already called my cat it.

Guin1 · 04/04/2015 10:27

Great name. Definitely the best on your list.

calilark · 04/04/2015 10:42

Best name ever. But I am biased Wink She is officially Tessa but we tend to use Tess. Not common but not weird which is what we wanted, quick for her to learn to say and easy to spell as well Grin
