One is my favourite, the other is DHs. Dh has had his picked for a very long time.

We're aware they're both popular but is Isla more popular in a faddy way?

I think a lot of people on here will say Holly, because it's less usual but still classic and pretty. But personally I love Isla. Doesn't matter it's more popular. It is beautiful and also classic. I think it will stand the test of time. You can't go wrong with either name :)

Isla. Mainly cause we had a cat called Holly. And it makes me think of Xmas.

I think Isla is quite classic. I knew an Isla when I was growing up, and heard of a baby called Isla recently.

MincePieDiet · 30/03/2015 20:28

I love both.

ThroughThickandThin · 30/03/2015 20:29

Isla

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 30/03/2015 20:31

Holly. I think Isla will be a 'generational' name.

CrispyFern · 30/03/2015 20:31

I like them both but Holly edges it for me.

AnnieEdison · 30/03/2015 20:32

Isla - love this. I like Holly too but there are a lot of them around this way.

AnnieEdison · 30/03/2015 20:33

Oh and I only know of 1 Isla and know a lot of babies / children etc.

Holly. Was h's name for a girl but we had two boys.

BlueBananas · 30/03/2015 20:42

Holly
I don't like Isla, just sounds like a noise to me

MrPicalilly · 30/03/2015 20:42

We're in SW London and there are a lot of Isla's. Have never met a Holly.

scratchandsniff · 30/03/2015 20:45

I'm having an elcs this week, if it's a girl she'll be Holly. Isla is a lovely name too.

NewMrsX · 30/03/2015 20:56

Thanks for the responses.

We both like both names enough to use them which makes it harder to decide on one! Thinking of just keeping both then deciding when the time comes

Both are lovely - I think waiting is a good plan

Box5883284322679964228 · 30/03/2015 21:43

Isla is very 2010, holly is very 2000

Sophronia · 30/03/2015 21:55

Holly, I agree that Isla is more trendy.

DianeLockhart · 30/03/2015 21:59

Holly

Though both are very lovely, can't go wrong with either

sweetpeame · 30/03/2015 22:34

Both are lovely but Isla is very popular now and I think it will date quite quickly. Holly is less common, I know one baby Holly and have heard of about ten Isla's all 4 years and younger!

burgatroyd · 31/03/2015 06:53

Holly over Island but they are really much of a muchness to me

burgatroyd · 31/03/2015 06:54

Isla!

Guin1 · 31/03/2015 07:16

My vote's for Isla.

shakemysilliesout · 31/03/2015 09:25

I vote holly

TempsPerdu · 31/03/2015 19:46

Holly. Isla is pretty but feels very faddy/trendy and think it end up being a very '2010s' name.

charlyn · 02/04/2015 12:01

Holly. Isla is way too popular
