Thanks for all your suggestions! I like ivy although dh has vetoed it . I am aware of the stigma that names can cause hakluyt, and would be careful not to give a name that might cause embarrassment or negative reactions. Our ds' name is a shortened version of a traditional name, so he can choose to go by the quirky shortening or change it to the longer version when he is older.

Unless I should just go the whole hog and go for 'the penguin'?
