I'm looking for pretty 3 syllable girls names that have a feminine nn. I have a daughter called Melissa (Lissy) to give you an idea. I love Clarissa (Clarrie ) but think it's too close.
Names we have dismissed or can't use include
Vivienne
Susanna
Julia
Eloise
Elodie
Any ideas please?

Thank you some wonderful suggestions. Not at all offended by the chickens...Our dog is Rupert!
Have friends with Florence and Jessica.
Love Abigail Jennifer and Christina but DH says I've gone all 80s on him. He's suggested Millicent (yuk) and Eliza which I like ish. What do you think?

He's wrong about Abigail. My sister is an 80s Abigail and it was quite rare then. Now it's really popular (well inside top 100, maybe top 50). I love it and Abbie is a cute nn, though nowhere near as nice as Abigail.

Adelaide (Della), Aurora (Laura??), Alexis (Lexi), Bethany (Beth), Cecily (Cece), Camilla (Milla), Cressida (Cressie??), Danielle (Ella), Dorothy (Dolly), Emmeline (Emmie), Eleanor (Lena), Francesca (Kessa), Fenella (Nella), Gabrielle (Ella), Georgina (Gina), Harriet (Hattie), Isabelle (Bella), Imogen (Immy??), Jessica (Jessie), Josephine (Josie), Katherine (Katie), Lillian (Lily), Lydia (Lyddie), Lorelai (Lora), Madeleine (Maddie), Miranda (Mimi), Matilda (Tilly), Natasha (Tasha), Natalie (Talia), Ottilie (Tilly), Philippa (Pippa), Rebecca (Rivkah), Rhiannon (Anna?), Rosemary (Rosie), Savannah (Vannah), Saskia (Kia?), Selena (Lena), Sylvia (Sylvie), Tallulah (Tallie), Vanessa (Nessa).

BlueStarsAtNight · 15/03/2015 02:54

I think I'd avoid Eliza although it's pretty, as it would be likely horrendous to Liza/Lizzy which is too similar to Lissy.
I love Abigail/Abbie though.

BlueStarsAtNight · 15/03/2015 02:54

*shortened, not horrendous!

Quasilulu · 15/03/2015 22:47

Thanks again!Smile We're seriously considering Fenella nn Nell which we'd never have thought of by ourselves.

Girly uh-huh ok...
Kayla isn't that girly but it is a 'pretty' name.
Bonnie could be seen as girly.
Elsie, I prefer the name Elsa but Elsie is girlier
Gracy, a nice nickname for Grace
Melodie, this is such a pretty French name, definitely consider it.
I hope this helps!

Quasilulu · 17/03/2015 00:48

Thanks Falcon wolf. I like Melodie but it's too close to Melissa. I think we've decided on Fenella Ruth nn Nell.
