Violet with a 'V' last name?

Can I use Violet if our last name also begins with V? Or will it sound really stupid?

All sound cool to me! I do like a bit of alliteration though.

Our last name is similar to Vaughan. It's one syllable

Some people love alliteration and some people hate it. If you like alliteration you should go for it.

Violet Vance (for example) sounds like a brilliant name to me. She could be a super hero, a private eye, or a rock star. Or even a chartered surveyor.

I once worked with a Val Vincent, which I always thought was an excellent name. I love alliterative names.

I came on to say Violet with a V surname would sound a bit like a book character (not necessarily a bad thing!) but looking at some examples I think it depends entirely on the surname!

I think Violet Venn sounds fine and that Violet itself is a beautiful name.
