Penelope/penny?

What do you think of the name? 31 weeks now and we can't seem to agree..dh said he doesn't hate it like all my other suggestions! What are similar names? I like Penelope the more I say it but worry it's a mouthful x

The chemist in our village always says Penelope as 'penny-lopey' which makes us laugh. She had reflux so we were there every week for a new prescription at one point, hilarious. Go for it (she's penny to us)

I really love Penelope and would be on my short list but I am very fussy with names when they can be shortened and I really don't like Penny. If I knew it wouldn't get shortened I would definitely be picking Penelope! So if you don't mind penny, go for it!

Another one here that likes Penelope but not Penny. Nell would be a cool nickname?

I was considering Penelope too but like pp have said, wasn't as keen on Penny. But Nell/Nella-I like!

When I was at school there were three Penny's not one was ever called Penelope.

I was thinking today, as I passed my colleague Penelope in the corridor, that there aren't enough Penelopes these days.

I love Penelope. Was on shortlist for DS2. Not so sure about Nelly (I'm not big on cutesy names) but do like Penny. It sounds sensible and sexy. Like the kind of woman you'd promote and ask where she got her shoes.

I like it & have actually met a 7 month old one recently as well as knowing a couple of adult pennys
When we talked about it - Sheldon style knocking Penny, Penny, Penny. So it was a no for us

That's why I liked it! I could imagine myself repeating penny - and it making me chuckle instead of exasperated!!!

I like Penny but not Penelope. Penelope is a bit prim.

Seems to be rocketing in popularity though.
