lauren

please don't call a child gaia

jugglingmonkey · 10/03/2015 17:08

Why not?

Out of the three I prefer Lauren but it's a very popular name

thedoodlebug · 10/03/2015 17:14

Lauren Anoushka Rose is nice, I think

BlueStarsAtNight · 10/03/2015 17:15

I think Lauren

jugglingmonkey · 10/03/2015 17:19

Grrrrr, Lauren is the 'safe' one!

What about Eliza, Bianca, or Romilly?

OP posts:
GoooRooo · 10/03/2015 17:26

Lauren Grace or Eliza Grace

RL20 · 10/03/2015 17:27

Ana Rose is nice! I also like Rosanna! Opposite way round although I know it's not on your list Smile My first name is Rose (not short for anything) so I'm all up for it being used but do think it's becoming a bit too popular as a middle name, which is rarely used. Double-barrelling it would be different! Good luck

charlyn · 10/03/2015 17:45

Love Gaia. Not keen on Anoushka and Lauren feels a bit dated to me.

turquoiseamethyst · 10/03/2015 17:58

Gaia sounds similar to "gay" which will elicit sniggers. I don't like Anoushka. Ana is okay but there are 50 shades connotations there if that bothers you.

Lauren is nice.

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 10/03/2015 18:04

I love Romilly!

IHeartKingThistle · 10/03/2015 18:26

I love Anoushka.

Sophronia · 10/03/2015 19:06

I like Eliza.

dawn1967 · 10/03/2015 19:08

Anoushka Rose is beautiful.

BikeRunSki · 10/03/2015 19:13

I'd chose Gaia, but then I am a geologist.

flowerygirl · 10/03/2015 19:16

How do you pronounce Gaia? I know kids will find anything to pick on, but anything with 'gay' in it is just baiting them!

AuntieStella · 10/03/2015 19:20

Of these, I'd choose Anoushka Rose.

justjodie92 · 10/03/2015 19:21

Anoushka Rose

NadiaWadia · 10/03/2015 19:34

Anoushka is lovely.

Gaia is pronounced 'Gy-a' isn't it?, not 'gay-a', so I don't know if the gay thing would come up. Very unusual, not sure if I like it or not.

Lauren is nice enough, but a bit dull maybe, was very popular about 20 years ago, judging by DD's friends.

jugglingmonkey · 10/03/2015 19:36

I'm a geologist too Wink

I love Gaia and Anoushka, both preferably with Rose as the Middle name. DH prefers Grace as middle name...

Surname is a bit masculine though, so perhaps Haia isn't great.

Pandora37 · 10/03/2015 20:39

I would pronounce Gaia guy-ah.

jugglingmonkey · 10/03/2015 20:40

*Gaia!

akorda · 10/03/2015 20:55

Gaia is lovely - so much nicer than the ubiquitous Maia/Maya!
Similar -sounding alternatives if you want any: Lyra? Dinah? Soraya?

Lauren is also nice. Although it may have been popular last decade,I've never met an under-5 with that name.

What about Laura as an alternative - such a lovely, underused name for the generation.

Anoushka, if always Ana, might well be one of several others in her class - seem to be a fair few Annas around at the moment.

DramaAlpaca · 10/03/2015 20:58

Gaia is the name of the Emma Thompson & Greg Wise's daughter.

It's pronounced guy-ah, not gay-a.

I like it - Gaia Rose would be lovely.

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 10/03/2015 20:59

Gaia is pronounced Guy - uh, right?

I think it's lovely, especially pared with Rose.

Otherwise I'd go for Anoushka.
