Keir?

Still hopeless at boys names. :(

Keir is the only new idea we've come up with for potential DS3.(who may of course be a DD)

We live in Scotland so not an unheard of name I would think.

Its the first name that DH doesn't hate that I could imagine using!

I really like this, and Kerr as well. I am also in Scotland.

Allstoppedup · 07/03/2015 16:27

I had a friend called Keir growing up.

Unfortunately I have very sad memories associated with it now so I couldn't use it myself, however I really think it is a lovely name.

countessmarkyabitch · 07/03/2015 16:33

I always hear the drink Kir with this name.

BellMcEnd · 07/03/2015 16:36

Love it.

BOFster · 07/03/2015 16:39

I love it. Makes me think of the great Keir Hardie.

Alisvolatpropiis · 07/03/2015 17:14

I think it's a really nice name Smile

OutsSelf · 07/03/2015 17:18

Agree, we're going to name the next one for Kier Hardie, though that may mean s/he is called Hardie

DramaAlpaca · 07/03/2015 17:19

I like it very much.

HelpMeGetOutOfHere · 07/03/2015 17:25

I like it a lot. I may be slightly biased though Wink

It's about the only thing I've used from my history of politics a level.

Belazu84 · 07/03/2015 17:49

Love it

ishallnamehimsquishy · 07/03/2015 19:27

I shall tell DH that MN has almost unanimously spoken. Wink

Thanks all. :)

Another thumbs up.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/03/2015 19:38

I really like it

myotherusernameisbetter · 07/03/2015 20:09

I wanted Keir or Kerr for DS1 but was over-ruled on both. Put them back on the list for DS2 - OH had Ciaran on the list. We ended up with Ciar :o

We moved after he was named and now live in an area where for geographical reasons there are quite a lot of Keir's so I guess his stands out a bit because of the Gaelic spelling.

SanityClause · 07/03/2015 20:10

Lovely!

Bluestocking · 07/03/2015 20:10

Lovely name, and Keir Hardie is a great association.

Mouthfulofquiz · 07/03/2015 20:11

Very nice name indeed.

TouchPauseEngage · 07/03/2015 20:12

i only know of attractive slightly cheeky Kiers! Good name!

myotherusernameisbetter · 07/03/2015 20:15

Yes, they are all good looking :)

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 07/03/2015 20:24

Great name

Alby16 · 07/03/2015 21:35

Was my husbands fave boys name, particularly because Keir Hardie is one of his heroes GrinGrinGrin I like it, but don't think it goes with our surname so was perhaps going to save it for a middle name. I think it is lovely though, and A nice name to say with a scottish accent as well imo.

soundsystem · 08/03/2015 18:03

I love it. I know a Keir who gets annoyed that his name is always misspelled as Kier because people think "I before E, except after C". He's in his 30, though and I don't think they teach that anymore so probably not a massive worry !

BotBotticelli · 09/03/2015 16:49

I have a 2 year old Keir. It's a bloody great name!

Cute on a little boy. Sounds handsome and cool on a teenage boy. And could have gravitas as an adult.

Done!

ishallnamehimsquishy · 10/03/2015 07:51

Done ;)

Thanks all. :)
