Two weeks to go until DC2 arrives. We are sorted for a boy but struggling for a girl. DD1 has a long ish name beginning with H, feminine but quite strong. Here are our options if it's a DD2:

Penelope (penny or posy as nickname)

Francesca (Cesca probably as nickname but would most likely use full name until older/one emerges)

Henrietta (Etti as nickname from the start as it's quite similar in sound to DD1 but I don't want just Etti it Etta on birth certificate)

Georgina (we both like but maybe a bit boring...)

Robyn (wild card but we both like this name, doesn't sit so well with DD1s name but does this actually matter?!)

Surname is double-barrel so quite long but will work with any of the above quite nicely.

Your thoughts...?

I love Francesca and Henrietta. Not sure if Henrietta would work with your dd1's name?

Yes I agree, Henrietta works the least with DD1s name which does put me off. Interesting lots of likes of Robyn! This name has really grown on me...I think we might decide when we see her/him because I kind of like all these on the list now!

I'm a Robyn fan too.

I don't like Penelope.

I like Francesca nn Cesca but think it might be hard to make this stick at school etc. Might become Fran which I strongly dislike.

Georgina is nice. So is Henrietta but personally I wouldn't use it if similar to dd1.

I like Henrietta and Georgina, and Penelope is ok. Not keen on Francesca or Robyn.

Love Francesca and Georgina. I like Penelope but really don't like Penny. Not at all keen on Henrietta. I like Robyn.

I like Robyn best too. Second would be Francesca. Really not a fan of Henrietta.

I like them all but hate nn fran, which is a risk.

I love Robyn and Francesca. I don't think Georgina is boring, it is much less common than Georgia. I had assumed DD1 was called Henrietta.

In terms of Robyn 'not sitting well' with DD1's name I really don't think that matters. I'm assuming your first child is called something in the style of Florence/Matilda/Harriet? Robyn fits just fine with that style.

Oh I've just noticed that DD1's name is 'long ish name beginning with H, feminine but quite strong'. In that case I'll cut my Florence/Matilda/Harriet list down to just Harriet!

Henrietta or Francesca are my favourites.

Francesca is my favourite, the others are nice but dislike Robyn.
