Help me make my shortlist even shorter!

Dc4 is being induced this week and we are still undecided about girls names. For a boy we love Teddy but I feel like I'm still searching for the perfect girls name... Please can I have your opinions on my current list and suggestions for names I might have missed;
Annabelle - current favourite (nn Annie)
Olivia - (too popular?)
Ava - (again too popular?)
Ada - (DH not too keen)
Alexandra - (nn Alexa/lexi)
Dorothea - (family connections)

Our surname is one syllable which is why I think a longer first name would be better.

I like Dorothea, though I prefer Dorothy.

I like Teddy, but would prefer it as a nn, with Edward as the formal name.

Annabel is lovely not as keen on Annabelle don't know why!
I love Ada and Dorothea with nn Dotty.
Teddy is lovely short for Edward

Good list!

If you'd like a longer name then I'd say scrap Ava and Ada. Personally Olivia is my least favourite (not sure why, just doesn't sound friendly).

My favourite is Annabel/Annabelle. Annie is really cute and she can be Anna if she wants something grown up but not too flowery when older.

Edward nn Teddy is great for a boy

Which could also be shortened to Thea, Dora or Teddy too Grin

Great list! I love Dorothea and Ada (less popular).

Olivia and Ava would be too popular for me but they are popular because they are also lovely names.

Edward/ Teddy - very cute.

Pesto I love the name Theodora and all its nicknames but the male version has recently been used by another family member.

I like Alexandra but (very sorry) can't stand 'Lexi'.

Dorothea/Dorothy and Annabel/Amabel also very nice.

Yes I'm liking the idea of Dorothy/Dorothea with dot/dotty as a nickname as it is close to my lovely nans name. Smile However I also love Anabel/Annabelle, would Anabel Dorothy work as first and middle names?

Dorothea nn Thea interesting but my dgm was Dorothy which is why I like it

Not a fan if Ada or Ava but if I had to choose id def ditch Ada.

I know two Dorethea's both were called spotty dotty at school but kids will always find something so maybe not an issue

I love Ava and Olivia but they seem quite popular at the moment.

I also like Alexandra with the nickname Lexi.

not keen on Ava or Ada but the others are lovely. FWIW, I don't know a single Olivia. I don't like Lexi at all, but all your other NNs are good. And I love Teddy!
