Opinions? My previous short list was:
Anna
Sarah
Alice

Would be a sister for Erin.

I really like it, and think your other choices are a bit dull in comparison.

dixiechick1975 · 14/02/2015 03:41

Makes me think of Piper Alpha disaster and I have no connection whatsoever with oil industry.

Very out of step with your other names on your list.

PaperdollCartoon
you're talking nonsense - already plenty of people have identified existing children with this name. I have never heard of a Plumber or Roofer. But I have heard of a Plum. Maybe you don't get out enough.

bigfam · 14/02/2015 04:26

I love it. It's a name I never even thought of, if I had I probably would of used it for my newborn. X

ladybird69 · 14/02/2015 04:42

LOVE LOVE IT. if I had DD tomorrow that would be her name. It sounds strong yet girlie and suits all ages.

Blackforestdonuts · 14/02/2015 07:05

I have a French friend who thinks it's hilarious that we use the name Piper because 'pipe' means blowjob.
Sorry for the downer....

Benchmark · 14/02/2015 14:43

I don't like it at all. Anna is my favourite from your list.

pilates · 14/02/2015 14:51

Piper is awful.

Anna or Alice are much better.

freerangeeggs · 14/02/2015 20:15

I love it but didn't know about the blow job thing and that would put me off quite a bit... it's the same with Pippa, which I heard was a verb meaning 'to shag' in Swedish or something.

I do agree that there is a bias against American-style names on these boards. I like classic names as much as anyone else but that doesn't mean some newly created names can't be nice too.

humlebee7 · 14/02/2015 20:44

DH likes unusual names so I've been trying to push myself towards more unusual choices hence Piper. And I was watching Coyote Ugly last night! But DH says he doesn't like it so effort wasted! he likes Isadora which I dont.

I prefer classic rather dull names I guess. I did wonder if the penis thing would come up - is it not that pippi is penis in Italian...? Gone off now if it has links to blow jobs.

Thanks for all your thoughts Smile

No. Alice is the best one.

HootOnTheBeach · 14/02/2015 21:05

I loved Charmed so loved all those P names. Think it sounds much nicer with an American accent than an English one.

itssangriaoclock · 15/02/2015 09:37

DH loves this name I'm still on the fence with it. Seems to be getting a fairly good reaction on here.

AuntieStella · 15/02/2015 09:39

I don't like surname names, especially on girls.

(And isn't "Plum" a traditional NN for Victoria?)

skylark2 · 15/02/2015 14:20

Really not a fan of giving girls male profession surnames as a first name.

Your previous list had nice names on it.
