Ahhh that is the problem with Ralph but I figure it's a generational (is that a word?) thing and wouldn't be known by his peers.

My sister has a Ralph..... and a Fred!
I'm sure that helps. Grin . Fred is more usually Freddie or Frederick ( French speaking country)

scratchandsniff · 11/02/2015 20:16

Cric is that a good smiley or a poor kid smiley?

BlueStarsAtNight · 11/02/2015 20:18

I like Fred better by miles

MrsBungle · 11/02/2015 20:20

I prefer Ralph. I'm not a fan of Fred at all but I must be in a minority as there's loads of them around here.

blondiep14 · 11/02/2015 20:22

I love my Fred Grin!

As a PP mentioned, as much as I like Ralph, I do think of Judy Bloom.

Or early teens in their best polo shirts reeking of Lynx!

Cric · 11/02/2015 20:30

It was a good smile!!! I like the name!

OublietteBravo · 11/02/2015 20:31

MillieH30 · 11/02/2015 20:54

Love Frederick, Ralph is nice too. Both lovely names.

Fairyfellowsmasterstroke · 11/02/2015 20:54

Fred - Ralph always sounds wishy washy I've probably been watching the Simpsons too much

crje · 11/02/2015 20:56

Fred

Sophronia · 11/02/2015 21:00

I prefer Frederick.

rockinrobintweet · 11/02/2015 21:48

Frederick is my favourite. it was on my shortlist at one point but seems very popular now.

Ralph made me think Ralph Lauren as DH used to like this make when we first met!

QueenBean · 11/02/2015 21:49

You're asking what to name a dog right? Either is very suitable for that

Flingmoo · 11/02/2015 21:55

They sound like names that you can burp. Maybe just because I had a relative who always used to burp the name "RaaaaaAAAAAaaalph" in a most disgusting and belchy sounding way every time he needed to do a big burp... Childishly, I always found it hilarious. Sorry.

lebkuchenlover · 11/02/2015 22:02

I prefer Ralph.

shoobidoo · 11/02/2015 22:08

I don't think most kids nowadays read much Judy Blume, I've personally never heard of it. I think Ralph is a great name!

BikeRunSki · 11/02/2015 22:09

(R)Alfred?

TeenageMutantNinjaTurtle · 11/02/2015 22:11

I know twins called Ralph and Fred .

BikeRunSki · 11/02/2015 22:11

Ralph is a slang term for throwing up though. I am the Judy Blume generation, but my immediate reaction to Ralpg is "throw up".
