I like it as a standalone name but also LOVE Jeremy (again, couldn't use it because of the alliteration which we didn't want).

Perhaps those of us who view it negatively were politely withholding comment. It's not for me, but then I had a loathsome boy in my class at school whose name was.. You guessed it.. Jed.

My nephew is Jed (1) and I know a 11 yr old one too. Fab name!

Known 2 Jeds. Both were little tearaways who are now big tearaways/been convicted of crimes.

I know a Jed. He's a tosser, he was that boy at school who thinks he's great at everything. He's a slimy car salesman now which suits him

It is my favourite boys' name. I don't have a son but, if I had had, I don't know whether I would've been bold enough to use it. Can never decide whether I would spell it Jed or Ged.

Nope, don't like it. It looks unfinished and too casual, but then the usual longer 'jed' name alternatives like Gerard and Jedediah aren't the best.

I'd be tempted to use Edward or Edmund for full, or something else
