Eleanor
Ariadne
Evadne

Oriana is beautiful, but I hadn't heard of the cruise ship so didn't make that association. Damn I would have used that as well.

Seriouslyffs · 06/02/2015 15:50

Otolie is lovely!

Seriouslyffs · 06/02/2015 15:51
Blush Just googled it to check it's meaning and it appears I made it up.
Allalonenow · 06/02/2015 15:54

I have a friend called Oriana, nn Rio. It's a lovely name.

I'd never heard of the cruise ship until it came up on a name thread on here. Not the cruising sort, clearly Wink

StoneFoxMama · 06/02/2015 16:09

It is a feminine relative of Orion which is pretty kickass.
Other names in a similar vein:
Aurelia/lie
Ariadne
Ariella
Ophelia
Aurianne/a
Ottilie

Bless her and all who sail in her.

LollyLondon · 06/02/2015 16:58

Not keen, but Arianna is lovely.
I've also heard of Olanna, which is pretty too.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 06/02/2015 17:10

I thought "enormous great cruise ship" as well. Not that you shouldn't use it, people just might make assumptions about your holidays around the time she was conceived.

Other P&O ships include:

Aurora
Azura
Arcadia

Have you considered Brianna? I think it's a beautiful name , but I can't use it unfortunately

UnrelatedToElephants · 06/02/2015 17:21

Seriouslyffs, were you thinking of Ottoline?
That is a lovely name!

Oriana is too cruiseship, sorry. Anna?

makingdoo · 06/02/2015 17:27

I know an Orianne - she's French, I think it's a beautiful name...

DevonFolk · 06/02/2015 17:36

I know an Oriana and the cruise ship has never occurred to me! She's gorgeous and really suits her name.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 06/02/2015 17:52

There are loads of baby Alanas around at the moment for some reason.

Ottilie is a real name, seriouslyffs, if you were thinking of that?

Tisiphone · 06/02/2015 19:36

I use to work with a south African Oriana. She was stunning and very glamorous so to me it is a glam name rather than a cruise ship!

Emu1969 · 08/02/2015 22:06

I just hear "oral". Not what you probably want to hear. Sorry.

coffeenut · 09/02/2015 09:43

Was the name of my flat ... Grin

Never heard of the cruise ship however (how do you all know the names of cruise ships?! Confused)

GlitzAndGigglesx · 09/02/2015 09:46

It's nice and I knew a Philippino girl with the name. I hardly doubt the 3 year olds of today are going to tease her about being the name of a cruise ship

GlitzAndGigglesx · 09/02/2015 09:47

Filipino!!!!!!! Ffs FILIPINO

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 09/02/2015 14:29

I'd have thought "Oriana the Great", and no cruise ships in sight Smile But then I am a madrigalist too...
Flora??
Phyllis??

PestoSnowissimos · 09/02/2015 14:30

It's a ship!!
