Always loved the name and it's my first choice for a girl (will convince husband Grin )

I've never known anyone under 70 with the name but I worry it's becoming popular as I've seen it mentioned on baby name threads a few times!

Don't know any (not reached the north of Scotland yet obvs), don't think it's at all frumpy (makes me think of the glam one from Scooby Doo) and I think it would suit all ages. Don't think the sibling and surname 'ee' thing matters.

I dont think its got out of the SE yet. I visit a LOT of Nurserries and Ive net metone yet..

If I'd had a girl, she'd have been Daphne. I had two boys but am planning on a female cat Wink

Ludways · 05/02/2015 23:09

I love it. I know two, one about 80 and the other nearing 50. The 50ish one is absolutely gorgeous, think timotei advert.

Sunnysideup5883 · 06/02/2015 19:28

I like it. I also like Dolores and Delphine

flowerygirl · 06/02/2015 21:14

Thanks everyone! I really like Delphine too Sunnysideup5883 but my husband said no. Daphne is by far my favourite though Smile

Very pretty name and I don't know any. There was a Daphne in my class at school in the 50s but I've never met another.

CommanderShepard · 08/02/2015 11:24

I know one - she's about 10 months. I too thought of Neighbours at first but I really like it now.

bluewisteria · 08/02/2015 16:52

I know one, about 18 months, in North London too! Brother called Charlie (Charles).

cowbiscuits · 08/02/2015 22:30

I think of Neighbours and Frasier but thats ok, neither are bad associations to make.

Its so pretty. I've don't think I've ever met anyone called Daphne. It's a lovely name and I might add it to my list!

NauseousKitty · 09/02/2015 21:13

I am in Yorkshire and my 2.5 yr old is Daphne. I love it... obviously. Am hoping that I am not the mother that a previous poster thinks is a tw*t now!

canweseethebunnies · 10/02/2015 14:44

I know one. I'm in the south west.

ginzillas · 12/02/2015 19:56

I think it's beautiful. I know of one under two.

scratchandsniff · 12/02/2015 20:16

I know of a 2 year old Daphne (London)

toobreathless · 12/02/2015 20:23

Nope!

In fact the only one I can think of was a character in 'Malory Towers' ( Enid Blyton)

Lovely!

DanyStormborn · 13/02/2015 20:57

Nope just my Gran who's almost 90 but I love the name so go for it.

heylilbunny · 08/03/2015 10:07

Didn't know about Malory Towers but there is a Daphne in Scooby Doo and the Broons. One glamorous, one not so.

THEworrywart · 08/03/2015 11:13

It's became really popular I know of 4 newborns called Daphne!

haleandhearty · 08/03/2015 13:38

I know one aged 3. Gorgeous name with a nice meaning - laurel bush I think? Go for it! Only good associations: Daphne Du Maurier; Daphne and Dez from Neighbours!

Doubt it'll ever be uber-trendy but it is hard to predict these days!
