My 4 yo dd has just informed me that this is the name of her imaginary friend, and I'm 'hearing' it anew. I think I quite like it. May I have your thoughts?

I LOVE this name and all the women I know with it are delightful!
Van and Nessie are lovely nn too.

not keen as I don't like names beginning with V very much.. but as PP said, I think Nessa is a nice nickname!

It's not a name that I like (too 'girly' for me), BUT I think it sounds very fresh as it's not been used much in recent years, which is nice.

I really like it. The only thing that put me off having it on my short list was that it is a name invented by author Jonathan Swift, rather than a name 'with meaning', but that is just personal preference.
