Just approaching 20 weeks and I'm after some opinions on these names. Don't know what we are having, so have put together a short list for both boys and girls names. Any feedback would be great. Thanks :-)

Edward
Hugo
Henry
Felix
(Middle name Jack or John)

Beatrix
Madeleine
Harriet
Phoebe
(Middle names Iris or Mary)

Phoebe or madeleine for a girl, Edward or Henry for a boy

Sophronia · 02/02/2015 19:15

Harriet Mary or Beatrix Mary, Edward John or Henry John.

Lucaslovesfelicity · 02/02/2015 19:46

Thanks everyone. Looks like all boys names apart from Hugo, are equally popular.... Good to know :-)
For the girls names, Harriet and Phoebe are coming out on top.
If you don't like any of the names, any chance you could tell me why? Just helps me with weighing up the positives and negatives of each of the names. Thanks :-)

Hugo and Harriet.

Myfourblondies · 02/02/2015 20:33

Henry or Phoebe. Also love Edward and Harriet though.

Myfourblondies · 02/02/2015 20:35

Not keen on Felix as reminds me of the cat food. Not keen on Madeline either or the nickname Maddie

nilbyname · 02/02/2015 20:36

They are l very classics, serviceable names and Iike them all. Maybe a touch on the safe side to my taste.

I like Edward (Eddie, teddy)
I like phoebe

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 02/02/2015 20:46

Edward and Harriet Smile

BananaToast · 02/02/2015 20:49

I like Henry Jack and Madeleine Iris.

TheGirlAtTheRockShow · 03/02/2015 07:28

I like pretty much all of them.
However, for some reason Felix always makes me think of a cat. That's just me though!

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 03/02/2015 08:30

Good list.

I love love love Beatrix. Sooooooo much nicer than Beatrice imo. Phoebe is also great.

The only ones I dislike are Henry (makes me think of Henry the 8th and assume the child will be horrible and tyrannical (and for some reason gives me an image of a little boy with gelled back hair..)) and Hugo (too posh, probably due to Made in Chelsea).

LollyLondon · 03/02/2015 11:38

They are all great, apart from Felix and Beatrix. I've never really thought about it before, but clearly am not a fan of "ix" names!

I think Mary is a FAB middle name - underused, but so pretty

carbolicsoaprocked · 03/02/2015 11:53

Love your list :) Felix Jack and Madeleine Iris are top for me, but it also depends upon your surname. I have a name which can also be shortened to Maddie but it never was. My friends skipped Maddie and jumped to Maz. Only one I'm not that keen on is Harriet, it just seems a bit 'jolly hockey sticks' for me!

baskingseals · 03/02/2015 16:52

Edward and Harriet.

Lucaslovesfelicity · 04/02/2015 00:05

Thanks everyone for your replies. Going to see if a can narrow my short list down even further over the coming weeks :-)

No strong feelings about the girls' names. Like both mns.

Lucaslovesfelicity · 07/02/2015 11:24

Loving Edward today. Edward Felix got a lovely sound to it I think, and the hubby likes Henry Jack. Well at least we r starting to get somewhere :-)
