OK so we're set on a boy's name of Jonathan, girls name is not so easy though.

We're in the Midlands (not sure if location makes any difference!) but I really don't want to have a Olivia A or Imogen B in school.

I've looked at top 100 name lists but if I can find all three of the names in various top 100 lists

I'm after your opinions on which name you prefer and if you know many youngsters by that name please.

Thanks so much x

I vote Violet! I always wanted to call DD Olivia until everyone started using it!! It'll be like your Sarah and Louise of the 80's! Violet is beautiful.
Imogen not so much.

I like the name Olivia best. I wouldn't chose the other two at all personally.

However the name Olivia Is very popular if that bothers you.

It is dd's middle name and one of her best friend's first name.

However I have to add that I have no child called Olivia at all In the infant school I work at, so maybe the name is decreasing in popularity.

How about Hermione?

Imogen sounds to me like immigrant, indigent, ignorant.

Olivia is too common. Everyone and their sister is named Olivia.

Violet is pretty, and kind of old fashioned. Viola is a little bit more crude sounding.

How about Petula?

Olivia is such a pretty sounding name. The others are not.

Thank you so much for your input, we're now between Violet and Imogen. Not sure we will know which is right until the birth but I'm now very happy with both those names
