We are trying to come up with shortlists of both boys and girls names.
I like slightly more unusual names but dh definitely does not. So far we have:

Emily
Sophie
Alice

Harry
George

The only one I really love is Emily. Can you please think of any names we might like? Also does our list seem really boring or just classical?

None of those names strike me as unusual (I know a lot of 3 to 6 year olds), but I would say classic rather than boring.

Other suggestions -

Eloise
Louisa
Iris
Sally
Katrina
Anna

Amos
Liam
Peter (great name, deserves a revival)
Patrick
Dominic

I don't see any problem with your list. The names you list don't have much "personality", sure, but I think there are benefits to that - it means your child will bring their own personality to it.

Other names I think you might like, that are classical but not so often used:

Emilia, Emmeline, Aveline, Adelaide, Ada, Juliet, Jessica, Hannah, Anna, Annabel, Bethany, Celia, Cara, Catherine, Amy, rosa, rosalie, Frances, Felicity, Esther, Ella, Stella, Laura, Aurelia, Lauren, Florence, Clara, Clarissa, Christina, Melissa, Millisande, Amanda, Summer, Kate, Katia

Henry, William, Joseph, Francis, Benjamin, Matthew, Michael, Mark, Marcus, Morgan, Leon, Theo, Theodore, Carl, David, Davin, Paul, Rio, Ashley

Sorry I meant that none of the more unusual names I likemade the list as dh doesn't like them. These names are the only ones we have agreed on so far.

Very safe. But some people (like me) like safe.

Emily and Sophie are known by their surname initial. Harry is, George probably is.

Alice is probably the only one in her school, although there might be an Alicia.

Would DH accept slightly less popular but still very well known names such as:

Ruth
Clare
Helen
Rowena
Rosalind
Susannah
Julia
Stella

Adam
Toby
Peter
John
David
Luke

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm sure dh would love older classical names such as Peter and Helen but they are just not quite old enough yet for me too use if that makes sense?
