I prefer elena but I guess that shortens to Ellie rather than ally? And I like the nickname ally.

It's a really popular Romanian name but usually spelt Alina. My dd is Adelina which is a slight variation on it.

The only Elena I know is Spanish and she pronounces it 'a-lay-na'. Not saying Aleyna is made-up just that it will be a headache in that no one will assume that's how it's spelt.
