Finding a compromise...

DH & I are currently battling through the mire to come up with a boy's name... There are very few we like.

Baby isn't due til May, so we still have some time, but I like to be ahead of myself sometimes Wink

Girl name we've sussed (Molly as first name, middle name probably Evangeline, but that could change), so that's not a problem. Other girls names we considered were Matilda, Rosa, Camille.

But for a boy...agh. I quite like Rufus, but DH isn't overly keen (even though I'm sure he suggested it to begin with Hmm). Ideally I would love to go with Remus but he's having none of it.

I did suggest Rufus Alexander and he pointed out that the initials aren't great when our surname is taken into account. So he suggested Alexander Remus, which is okay, but... I just don't know if I like Alexander enough as a first name.

Can anyone chuck in a few suggestions? I am feeling stumped.

Well, Remus is clearly a wonderful name! Tbh though, I agree with you dh that it's better as a middle name.

I'm not over-fond of Alexander, personally.

What other names does he like?

your not you dh

I'm due April and team yellow too. Same applies, we've got a girl sussed-Evelyn Grace but boy not so easy. We've narrowed it down to Heath (current fave) or Theo (Theodore on birth certificate).

I'm also fond of Stanley, Ned, Adam, Edward.

Remus no in reality I do think that you (and he) are right in keeping it for a middle name!

DH doesn't really like many other names... Except Finn (which I did like but feel it's a bit too popular), and Sam (which I'm not keen on).

I like Joseph but he doesn't... It's a nightmare trying to find something we can agree on!

I also like Elliot but we have a friend with that name so can't really use it Sad

I don't think Finn is hugely popular is it? Would it be just Finn, or Finlay, Fiontann, Fingal, Finbar?
