John & Christopher

We want to give baby a middle name that makes reference to both grandfathers, Chris & John. (Our daughter's is Marianne - a reference to both grandmothers, Mary & Ann.) But we're totally stumped! My dad suggested Christian - say it Chris John fast and it sounds like Christian! Which I'm not thrilled with cos it doesn't really include John. But usable in a pinch. Unless baby is a girl!

So, do the clever Mumsnet peoples have any smart ideas?! Please help me middle-name my baby Wink

John Christopher are good solid middle names. I'd pick both rather than looking for a hybrid.

The reason we only want 1 middle name is that I have 2 - both of my grandmothers. But, because two middle names is cumbersome, I don't use either. And I don't want baby to do that, which is why we combined our Moms' names into Marianne, and why we'd like a combo name.

Mary and Anne convert neatly into a lovely name. But I can't think of anything that incorporates John and Christopher except for Jean-Christophe which is still just two names.

Maybe Christian is the way to go.

Sophronia · 20/01/2015 15:29

Christian could work, especially as the last three letters spell Ian and Ian is a form of the name John.

St John? (Sinjun).

JC- like Jesus Christ. Or JC chazey from nsync.

Reiltin · 20/01/2015 20:42

Or CJ from West Wing! We've already thought of that but I think initials for a middle name is a bit odd. Anyone got precedent?

No but it would be awesome.

Jacey is on the list but it doesn't really go with the potential first names. Ugh, this baby thing is hard Wink
