Surname

Neither dp nor I like our surnames.

We are expecting and I'm wondering whether a solution would be to hyphenate our (surname) middle names? They are both 3 syllables so it would be quite long but they are good,messy to spell names that sound good together.

Has anyone ever done this?

Never come across that, but I do know a couple who merged their surnames to make something new - along the lines of North and Aldgate to make Northgate.

I know a couple who both changed their names to the same one when they got married. They just picked one they liked the sound of. That'll confuse future genealogists.
