Help with a girls name

We are expecting a baby in April and I think we've pretty much decided on Sebastian as a boys name.

For girls my/our taste is eclectic and varied to say the least!

We both love Harriet but unfortunately is a no go because of our surname (think jk Rowling ...)

So Anna, Hannah, Poppy and Lauren are all favourites but we think 'too popular.'

Then slightly more unusual - we love Willow (but a good friend named her daughter this) Seren (ditto) and Rowenna which we like but think it might end up being Rowena, which we aren't so keen on.

Can anyone help us decide? :)

Seren is pretty but very popular (top 10) in Wales.

Rowena is nice. It is normally spelled Rowena, with one 'n' - for origins of spelling see www.behindthename.com/name/rowena. It's usually pronounced 'Row-ee-nah' but I have sometimes heard it pronounced 'Row-enn-ah'. I don't think you need the 'nn' if you want to say it that way. Looks a bit like 'creative' spelling, and we all know what Mumsnet thinks of that

Anna is nice, and a classic. No 69 in England and Wales combined in 2013, but perhaps more popular now because of the film???
Hannah - perfectly pleasant, was very popular, perhaps less so now (no 44).
Poppy very popular now (no 7) - not my favourite.
Lauren - sorry, don't like; but the least popular of these four names. Not in top 100. I do like Laura, however!

Willow is also popular - no 54 in England and Wales combined in 2013.

Flora, Rowena is pronounced roweeeena; Rowenna is pronounced rowhenna - promise it isn't a creative spelling but two different names! However, the popularity of the first pronunciation may mean it's an issue throughout her life, if baby is a girl.

Mm, I like phoebe, Alice, Megan and Erin, but they all seem very popular for little girls just now and I'm erring more to the unusual side of things.

I don't like ramona or jo(h)anna sorry, or Rowan - puts me in mind of Rowan Atkinson!

April is a possibility in fact: I like it very much but DH isn't so sure.

Hannah would be nice but I think I'd steer clear of H .

If you like Hannah, and Lauren..how about Laura? Classic and underused I think. Or Sarah? I've met children with both those names and they are fab!

I'm not keen on Laura - just so many of them. I like Merryn out of the above names and April.

You've mentioned quite a few of our top names so I'll just suggest some we're thinking about just now :)

Maya (pronounced My-a, as in Angelou), Serena, Rose, Gabriella, Lara, Rebecca. I used to have a teacher called Merryl, which I always loved, but perhaps too close to Merlin for your wizardy connection?

I wouldn't use Poppy or Hannah with your surname. If you like the 'short e' sound in Rowena, have you considered Cornish names like Lowenna, Morwenna, Wenna or Gwenna which generally do use a double n?
