Joseph and...Sophia?!

Hi. DS is Joseph, sometimes Joe. I'm sure it won't be long before he's always Joe. When I was to pregnant with him I loved the name Sophia; now I'm 6 months pregnant and wondering whether we can still put it on our girls list or whether it's just too similar to Joseph?! Gut reactions gratefully! TIA Smile

Not too similar at all. I had to really thinking about what you were worried about - is it the similar letters / sounds in the middle? I still think they are different enough for this not to be an issue.

MuttonCadet · 17/01/2015 13:54

No, they sounds great together.

Oh thanks NameChange. Yes I was thinking about them having very similar letters but glad you think they sound ok together Smile

They sound fine together. I know siblings with the same names & I've always thought it was a nice combination.

I think they sound fine together.

We know a Joseph and Emily. A Jacob and a Sophie. I think yours does go together!

Thanks everyone. DH likes Millie. I do like Joseph and Millie but Sophia is my favourite really. I guess I'll just have to work on him ??

I see what you mean - I've just read the names aloud and found it hard not to say "Jophis and Sophis"! But what do I know, my kids' names are completely different and I still call them combinations of both names!

wigglesrock · 17/01/2015 18:09

They're lovely. My eldest is Sofia and Joseph (Joe) was always near the top of my prospective boys names list, I have 3 daughters Smile

Sophia is such a gorgeous name. I think they sound lovely together Smile

Love both the names, my DD was nearly a sophia, it was a toss up between that, olivia and lucy. I ruled out sophia because my DP is dyslexic and couldn't spell it :)

I really like Joseph, I know four and they are all little buggers Wink but in a nice, mischievious way
