Theo is on the list in our ongoing hunt for a boys name but both Theo(dore) and our surname are names that can be shortened to Ted/Teddy. I'm undecided as to how much of a problem this is and whether it counts it out of the running. What do you think?

Like Theo Edwards for example?

Nah, I can't see that causing any problems. It's a very tenuous link.

I think it's fine

Theo is on my short list too!
Great name :)
Don't think it matters too much re the surname as I can't see theo being shortened to ted/teddy as much as the full Theodore would.

I totally wouldn't have made that link. Theo's a great name, go for it!
