Hmmmnnn... I really like it but wonder if it will wear well.

I adore fluttery names and I like the opera character.

Etta would be a nickname? Nice or too wanky?

Etta is lovely. I'd stick with that

Um, I instantly think of the TdeF and cyclists' lunch bags that they throw away when finished with (musettes)!

La Boheme comes in second, maybe I'm lacking in culture these days Smile. If you like the nn Etta, other full names may work Betta (sorry).

erinscupcake · 04/01/2015 17:29

Blackbird that is awful!Grin

Henrietta

I like Etta as a name.

Musetta....
When I read it I immediately thought it sounded like a brand of car seat/pushchair.
Sorry. You did ask :)

turdfairynomore · 04/01/2015 17:56

Tour de France (or giro d'italia if your from NI and have happy memories!!) was my first thought!

turdfairynomore · 04/01/2015 17:59

You're!!!!!

MarieJeanne · 04/01/2015 18:02

Makes me think of muzzle!

Deerhound · 04/01/2015 18:16

Too wanky for me I'm afraid...Etta is great though.

Leonora is another opera name (still a little bit wanky imo but then I like very simple names) which is prettier.

squoosh · 04/01/2015 18:16

You gotta forgetta Musetta. Think of something betta!

Yorkshirelassreturns · 04/01/2015 18:25

Sorry I don't like it. I do however love the nn Etta/Etty. If we have a second DD then she will definitely be an Etta nn. The names we've thought of are:

Juliet / Juliette but you could have Julietta
Josette
Cosette although DH says no!

Verity - this would need to be Etty I think

Let us know gets you decide x

Yorkshirelassreturns · 04/01/2015 18:25

what

DramaAlpaca · 04/01/2015 18:30

I immediately thought of the Tour de France, too.

Just go for Etta, or one of the other much nicer names that end in -etta.

KatherinaMinola · 04/01/2015 18:37

I love it. Though you'd have to hope she'd be diminutive, with adorable brown curls (and a more glamorous version of that when grown up).

Solasum · 04/01/2015 23:02

Odette

SingSongSlummy · 04/01/2015 23:04

You can't - she's a prostitute in the opera!!!!!

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/01/2015 23:51

It's terrible, sorry. It sounds like a type of meal. We're having musetta for tea. Don't Etta either.
But don't let my opinion put you off. It is only an opinion, and the world wouldn't go around if we all liked/disliked the same things.

IsadoraQuagmire · 05/01/2015 12:19

I like the fact that it's quite uncommon. The only real life Musetta I know of is Musetta Vander.

I think it sounds pretty, but, as well as being a cyclists' bag, a musette is also a type of bagpipe:
