As a sister for Poppy? Three syllable surname. Thanks!

I love both, but would probably go for Clara. Florence is bound to be shortened to Flo, which is also a lovely name, but not really the same.

CrispyFern · 02/01/2015 08:33

Depends if you want nicknames or not. Florence has Florrie or Flo, but I can't think of any for Clara!

ToddleWaddle · 02/01/2015 08:35

I have a clara so biased and she has lots of silly nicknames:)

Lunastarfish · 02/01/2015 08:37

Clara. Florence is a cute name at 7 but not do much at 17

areyoubeingserviced · 02/01/2015 08:38

Clara

slightlyconfused85 · 02/01/2015 08:38

Thanks all, didn't really think about the nickname thing. I'm a teacher so so many names are out! I don't teach a Clara, I teach one Florence.

I also quite like flora but DP not so keen.

Clara. I've always loved it Smile

pommedeterre · 02/01/2015 08:48

Clara

Fear it may become very popular soon though if that bothers you.

I like Flora too.

Freya? Fleur?

marshmallowpies · 02/01/2015 08:48

Love both names but I think Clara sounds better with Poppy.

olivehater · 02/01/2015 10:49

Prefer Florence as Clara appears to getting rather popular on here.

BowiesJumper · 02/01/2015 11:04

Clara is lovely!

We considered Florence but being in a part of the NW where it's quite a traditional name for older ladies we decided against it because of the shortened version. It would automatically get shortened to Flo or Florrie by others and I don't like Flora very much Smile
Clara is a lovely name.

Pandora37 · 02/01/2015 13:26

Definitely Clara.

desperatelyseekingmaya · 02/01/2015 13:40

Love Clara.

Sophronia · 02/01/2015 14:28

Florence. Clara looks pretty but I find with quite hard to say with the 'khlar' sound.

burgatroyd · 02/01/2015 16:44

Clara!

Longdistance · 02/01/2015 16:47

Clara for sure Grin

BabyX · 02/01/2015 22:26

The only Florence I know is called Flossie - isn't that awful?

Clara is divine. Still out of top 100 so I wouldn't worry about that - just gets mentioned a lot of MN. So does Persephone but I don't think it'll bother the top 10 any time soon.

wilkos · 02/01/2015 22:30

Clara. Oh I wish I had called dd this and not listened to ex dh. Congratulations Smile

Deerhound · 02/01/2015 22:46

Clara

slightlyconfused85 · 03/01/2015 07:29

Thanks all. I don't like flossie at all, flo is ok. I'm definitely leaning towards Clara!
