Monty or Seb?

Votes please ladies!

We are currently trying to decide between Montgomery which we would shorten to Monty and Sebastian which we'd shorten to Seb.

Which do you prefer?

I'm 14 weeks PG, Monty and Seb are in my top three names so I adore both! IMO Monty does have an 'edge' over Seb. Zevi is my third name but that's more DP's choice than mine.

Seb!

It's more of a classic than Monty, imo, and I think Montgomery sound ridiculous to be honest

isitsnowingyet · 02/01/2015 05:59

Seb - definitely

LJBB1 · 02/01/2015 06:26

I also vote Seb!

Littleturkish · 02/01/2015 06:41

Seb, lovely name- though I do like both.

shoobidoo · 02/01/2015 07:34

Whilst Sebastian sounds nice and strong, its nicknames Seb, Sebby or Basty don't imo.

I much prefer Monty as a nickname.

pilates · 02/01/2015 07:47

Monty

CaptainAnkles · 02/01/2015 07:48

If I had to choose one, Monty. But I'm not posh enough to use either in real life.

CaptainMorgansMistress · 02/01/2015 11:19

Hmmmm 4 votes each - well at least people think they're both ok names!

Neither I'm sftaid,awful names.

PrincessOfChina · 02/01/2015 11:25

I love both. I think I slightly prefer Sebastian but I'm worried it's going to get super popular so am wavering over it for our DS.

SunnyBaudelaire · 02/01/2015 11:25

neither sorry Monty is dreadful and Seb sounds like sebum

Marcipex · 02/01/2015 16:18

Monty, great name.

Sorry, not keen on Seb.

shoobidoo · 02/01/2015 22:37

Seb = Sebacious = Oily

Just not manly or strong imo.

cosmicglittergirl · 02/01/2015 22:41

Seb

Threeplus1 · 02/01/2015 22:43

Montgomery is awful sorry

CrazyOldBagLady · 02/01/2015 22:44

Quite like Bastian as a shortened version of Sebastian, might be a bit too French sounding for UK usage though, and probably wouldn't work well with most UK accents.

GraysAnalogy · 02/01/2015 22:46

Think they're both a bit pretentious really but Seb would be my choice OP

Congrats btw

CrazyOldBagLady · 02/01/2015 22:48

Monty is fine presuming you are the Queen's cousin or from some old money type family!

LucyBabs · 02/01/2015 22:48

Monty as in Monty Burns from the Simpsons Wink

I like Sebastian.. I don't like either name shortened..

Congrats OP x

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/01/2015 22:50

Monty. It reminds me of Darling Buds of May. Smile

LeoandBoosmum · 02/01/2015 22:50

Sebastian but only if you don't shorten it.
Monty (Montgomery) just sound too pretentious to me... I also think of Monty as the kind of name that might belong to an eccentric uncle, or worse, a cat!

WanderingTrolley1 · 02/01/2015 22:52

I love Monty - almost called DC3, my last child, and daughter, it.

squoosh · 03/01/2015 03:58

Monty is a great name for a Jack Russell. For a human it's bloody awful.

I vote for Sebastian.
