Ohh i love Arthur! I am very into royal names at the minute though so could be biased Grin but Arthur is lovely.

WhyYouGottaBeSoRude · 24/12/2014 18:46

I think Arthur would be quite humble BTW. No idea why.

Jemimapuddleduk · 24/12/2014 18:48

A super cute, chubby cherub like my 3 month old Arthur!

NeedaDiscoNap · 24/12/2014 18:50

Gorgeous! Would have called DD Arthur if she'd been a boy. Such a fabulous name.

af2000 · 24/12/2014 18:58

He is a smiley, cheeky, happy little chap like our Arthur. I am clearly massively biased but we love the name and get lots of compliments. As far as I can tell it is still quite unused. Go for it!!

Clueing4looks · 24/12/2014 19:03

A good friend has an Arthur (which I love) nicknamed Arty (which I choke on whilst saying)

CitronVert · 24/12/2014 19:13

DD used to have book called Worried Arthur about a little penguin who fretted a lot (hence the title I guess..) I don't know any other young Arthurs so I think of a little Arthur as a serious little chap.

However, Arthur was also my grandad's name so I think of a lovely twinkly old man who brought me midget gems.

It's a great, solid name with lots of weight behind it (if you see what I mean)

spinduchess · 24/12/2014 19:13

Looks a bit like a bear, but everyone says he is an aardvark.

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 24/12/2014 19:14

My friend has an Arthur and he's gorgeous (almost 1)

VixxenPlusAllTheOtherReindeers · 24/12/2014 19:18

Arthur to me conjures up images of a meek boy whose parents are dowdy middle aged people who cut his hair with a bowl.

ElPavo · 24/12/2014 19:18

I don't like his parents much. They're probably exhaustingly middle-class.

LouiseBrooks · 24/12/2014 19:21

Arthur? King of the Britons. Celtic hero etc etc. Quite a lot to live up to I'd say.

Spinduchess Not sure if you know, but Arthur does mean bear.

Mulderandskully · 24/12/2014 19:59

Mostly good then! I like it, DH says Arthur daly. I had to look him up, but he doesn't seen particularly worrying

I think it's a fine name, which works on a baby, a toddler, and a grown man.

spinduchess · 24/12/2014 20:02

I was making a joke about this guy, which is who I think of when I hear the name.

Wellwellwell3holesintheground · 24/12/2014 20:10

The devil incarnate. But that's just going on personal experience.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/12/2014 20:13

I only know one Arthur and he is absolutely adorable.

Heleng1982 · 24/12/2014 20:21

I love Arthur I wanted it but hubby said no I think it's a good name for all stages of life Smile Smile Smile

TheHorseHasBolted · 24/12/2014 21:08

I think he would be quite solidly built (muscular, not overweight), cheerful and straighforward. You know where you are with Arthur.

PrintScreen · 26/12/2014 08:00

Arthur could be anyone: it's a name that's been used for 100s of years, by Eoyals and working class, by English and across the world, by traditionalists and now by hipsters. A great, versatile, classic name that you can't put in a box.

CaptainAnkles · 26/12/2014 08:02

Mischievous chubby toddler who charges off all over the place and has to be retrieved from climbing on everything. Cute.

LarrytheCucumber · 30/12/2014 09:01

My DM's friend was married to Arthur for over 50 years. He was a good, solid, dependable kind of chap.

picklesandfrittles · 30/12/2014 20:28

I have a 23 month old Arthur and so am obviously biased but he is delicious! We are so happy with the name. It just kind of sums him up!

Alisvolatpropiis · 31/12/2014 11:58

My paternal grandfather was a Arthur. Truly lovely man, in every way. I'd use the name myself if it weren't for the fact it would cause huge family issues on my maternal side.

Deerhound · 31/12/2014 12:34

Arthur is a decent, solid bloke. Baby Arthur is probably middle class.
