What do you think?

Also what do you think of Agatha?

Love both of them! Ursula is my favourite though. I have only met one.

Fallingovercliffs · 15/12/2014 12:27

I think Ursula is due a revival. It's old fashioned and pretty.

Clueing4looks · 15/12/2014 12:31

My midwife was called Ursula when I has my DD. It's a beautiful name but I think Disney have spoilt it by giving it to a 'baddie'

RiverTam · 15/12/2014 12:32

aahhh, little bear! Very sweet. Not sure about Agatha though.

chipsandpeas · 15/12/2014 12:32

when i hear ursula i think of phoebes twin in friends

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 15/12/2014 12:33

Reminds me of the giant purple monstrosity from The Little Mermaid, sorry! Even without that association I don't think it's a very nice sounding name. Don't like Agatha either, people will shorten to 'Aggie'

averythinline · 15/12/2014 12:35

really like both of them, slightly prefer Ursula..not seen little mermaid though....

redredholly · 15/12/2014 12:36

Yes don't worry - my other child has a (beautiful) name which is shared by a ridiculous character from the TV, so they'd have that in common!

GlitzAndGigglesx · 15/12/2014 12:37

I don't think they're very nice sounding names

PinkiePromise · 15/12/2014 12:40

Dh really wanted DD2 to be Ursula, I vetoed on the basis of The Little Mermaid. She is now 6 and very glad that we didn't name her after a Disney villain! Other than that, I like the name and Agatha too.

SunnyBaudelaire · 15/12/2014 12:40

both of them are fab names, way overdue a revival.
I do prefer Agata though , like the Polish way.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 15/12/2014 12:45

The sea witch? I'm not a fan.

I'm not keen on Agatha either really. I do like Agnes though.

MortaIWombat · 15/12/2014 12:48

Nice German nickname Uschi (rhymes with bushy)

loislines · 15/12/2014 12:54

Like them both. Ursula is probably my favourite. If you had to avoid every negative association it would be impossible to name a child!

redredholly · 15/12/2014 13:05

Also if anyone can think of other names along these lines I'd be interested to hear them!

OP posts:
shakemysilliesout · 15/12/2014 13:06

I don't like either.

I especially don't like ursula- I think it's important to consider the sea witch thing. Little mermaid continues to be popular 25 yrs on and there is a strong negative association with the name ursula.

squoosh · 15/12/2014 13:41

Ursula is a name I feel I should like but don't actually like. It sounds a bit vinegary.

With Agatha I don't even feel I should like it, it's awful.

UrsulaBuffay · 15/12/2014 14:08

I like it Wink

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 15/12/2014 14:10

I love both of them!

ppeatfruit · 15/12/2014 14:18

Well think about how it'll be abbreviated by her friends at school "Erse" or something like that, doesn't sound nice even without the negative Little Mermaid thing.

redredholly · 15/12/2014 14:21

I am really quite enjoying how divided people are!

SunnyBaudelaire · 15/12/2014 14:22

was it Agatha or Ursula who became a saint after having her breasts cut off? ....goes off to google...

Canyouforgiveher · 15/12/2014 14:24

I don't like it. It is hard to say. I knew a German ursula once and she had a nice nickname though - Ushi.

DaphneMoonCrane · 15/12/2014 14:24

Ursula is lovely. It means 'little bear' which is just so cute.
