To think Raya is made up and just awful, after receiving news of a beautiful baby girl. All I can think about is the name?

That's the shortened version of my daughters name...... I think it's gorgeous :p

I know a little Raya - named after a Thai island where her parents married. Doesn't sound too outlandish.

I know a very beautiful smart Arabic Reya. It's pretty I think.

I saw it and thought it might be connected to the lovely Persian name 'Soraya'.

It is a common name in Egypt. Also spelled Rayah.

Reyer is Dutch, tho poss male
