Will Bryony be called 'Bry'?

36 wks with DC2. Boys name picked out, and have a few ideas for girls.
Both really like Bryony but I am worried it might be shortened to Bry, as some people feel the need to shorten every name!
Thoughts?

Every one I know has it shortened.
Also, most people will end up spelling her name Briony as that's the most common spelling.

I know a "Bry (or Bry-bry)" and a "Brie". Both have the proper name "Bryony".

Having said that, if I one of them wasn't family, it would be on my list. Lovely name.

I think Bry is likely though not inevitable. The Bryony I was at school with was known as Brian, mind you.

I prefer the Bryony spelling to Briony as less like Brian!
I had imagined saying Bry-on-ee, but what others will say is anyone's guess!
We are in the south west so not sure what a West Country accent will do to the name either!

My friend is a Bryony - pretty name - but everyone calls her Yo-Yo.... (her little brother couldn't say her name so she was always Bry-yoyo to family)

I've ony ever met one Briony and she is known as Briony. I think it really depends on the person. Most Victorias become Vicky/Tori but ocassionally I come across one who insists on Victoria.
