Oliver but isn't that the no.1 name from last year...there will be lots

HangingInAGruffaloStance · 11/11/2014 20:30

Thomas

ScrambledEggAndToast · 11/11/2014 20:33

Thomas

Sudename · 11/11/2014 20:34

Both lovely but Oliver shades it for me

Quitelikely · 11/11/2014 20:37

Love them both but it would be thomas for me!

ZenNudist · 11/11/2014 20:42

Oliver, but both are good

turdfairynomore · 11/11/2014 20:43

Oliver. But I'm biased!

bouncingbelle · 11/11/2014 20:43

Thomas by a mile

Bimblepops · 11/11/2014 20:43

Both, but I'm biased!

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 11/11/2014 20:44

Thomas

BrambleBee · 11/11/2014 21:46

I'm having exactly the same debate (though we don't know if we're having a boy or a girl)! I think we're going for Thomas, because we just about prefer the nn Tom. Good luck, I think either is lovely Smile

moonblues · 11/11/2014 21:47

Thomas - much nicer IMHO

Neither. But I know I'm in the minority thanks to the thousands born each year for the last 10 years at least.

Mrsgrumble · 11/11/2014 21:53

Good Luck bramble

We don't know the sex either and I think it's a girl - but it's 50/50, as thy say so want to be 100percent happy with a boys name also

Thanks all. DS has a very traditional classic name. I love Joseph but cannot go for it, or James either (also love)

I think Thomas is a much safer option but dh prefers Oliver. I cannot make up my mind.

Not everyone likes Oliver

Thomas

ThisFenceIsComfy · 11/11/2014 21:56

Thomas

StampyShortnose · 11/11/2014 21:58

Neither.

Every other child round these parts is called Thomas or Oliver.

Squirm · 11/11/2014 22:09

Thomas is timeless.

lebkuchenlover · 11/11/2014 22:36

Neither.

There are SO many lovely names to choose from that I wouldn't choose either Thomas or Oliver, both of which are a little overused imo.

devoncreamtea · 12/11/2014 08:33

Thomas. Tom is much nicer nn than Ollie I think. Both strong names though and classic so either would do him proud I'm sure.

roastpots · 12/11/2014 09:07

I like them both - but prefer Tom to Ollie as a shortening so I would go for Thomas.

divingoffthebalcony · 12/11/2014 09:12

I know it's not helpful of me, but neither. Those names are SO popular and have been for so many years (decades even) they just sound a bit dull to my ears. There's nothing wrong with the names themselves, they're completely classic and inoffensive, it's just the sheer popularity that would put me off.

burgatroyd · 12/11/2014 09:41

Thomas
Know lots of Olivers, only one Thomas
